CM Punjab Announces Home Delivery of Insulin for Children with Type-1 Diabetes

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a new initiative to deliver insulin directly to the homes of children with type-1 diabetes. During a health sector meeting on Friday, she shared plans to introduce special cards that will ensure insulin is provided to these children.

The insulin will be supplied by a government-approved company, which will follow all necessary cold chain procedures and safety protocols. The project will first be launched in three districts, including Lahore, as a pilot program. Children with type-1 diabetes can apply for this service through a dedicated app or helpline.

In addition to the insulin project, Maryam Nawaz also revealed that basic health units (BHUs) across the province will be rebranded as ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics.’ This change aims to improve access to healthcare, especially in remote areas. The new clinics will provide better medical services to people in underserved regions.

These initiatives are part of the government’s broader effort to enhance healthcare services and make treatments like insulin more accessible to children in need. The program is expected to benefit many families and bring essential healthcare closer to those living in distant areas.
