Oman fast bowler Bilal Khan has set a new record in ODI cricket by becoming the fastest pacer to reach 100 wickets. He achieved this milestone in just 49 matches, surpassing the previous record held by Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi, who took 51 matches to reach 100 wickets.

The list of fastest pacers to 100 ODI wickets now includes:

  • Bilal Khan (Oman) – 49 ODIs
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi (Pakistan) – 51 ODIs
  • Mitchell Starc (Australia) – 52 ODIs

Bilal Khan, a 37-year-old left-arm medium pacer, reached this achievement during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match between Oman and Namibia in Dundee.

In this match, Khan bowled impressively, taking three wickets for 50 runs in his 10 overs. This performance brought his total to 101 wickets in just 49 ODIs, setting a new benchmark for fast bowlers in the format.

This remarkable feat highlights Khan’s consistency and skill in ODI cricket, placing him among the top fast bowlers in the world. His achievement is a significant milestone for both his career and Oman’s cricket history.
