During the G20 Summit in New Delhi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a long-time ally of Pakistan, created controversy by recognizing Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir as part of India in a video presentation. UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister, Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, shared this video on social media, effectively supporting India’s territorial claims.
The video was originally meant to highlight economic corridor projects linking India with the Middle East and Europe but inadvertently highlighted a shift in UAE’s diplomatic stance on the Kashmir issue.
This development indicates a warming relationship between India and the UAE, signaling a growing gap between Pakistan and Middle Eastern countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
